Presidential Campaign Speech
Chester Rockwell, Vice President of the United States
of America
Follows:
My fellow Americans, I'm not here to waste your time. My
opponent, Governor [Name] of Texas in all of his years has taken no solid
stance on the education of the youth of this nation. Therefore, it should
not surprise you that his own State's schools rank in the bottom 10% of
the nation in teacher salaries. But Governor [Name] wouldn't know anything
about that; he never even attended a public school. My friends, I support
a strong education system in the United States that will help our youth
gain the knowledge they need to become the future leaders of our country.
I also support a federal tax on all cigarettes. We as
Americans have known for years that smoking kills, and the example we have
set for our children has been a poor one. The instigation of this tax will
further encourage smokers to quit and discourage the youth of America to
start smoking, thus leading to a higher standard of health in America.
Governor [Name] talks about his support of capitol punishment. Why not?
His State has ended the lives of more criminals than any other in this
nation. My friends, it is not our position to take the lives of others
into our hands. We do not deal in revenge in this country, we deal in liberty.
I also support a ban on handguns for private citizens. Too many of our
children are killed each year when they find their parents' loaded handguns
and mistake them for toys. It is our duty to trust the protection of our
lives and homes to our nations law enforcers.
Governor [Name] believes recent military cuts have hurt
our nation. We are not at war, friends, and we command the most powerful
army in the world. I support the use of our military forces to help bring
peace throughout the world, rather than hoarding them here waiting for
a war to break out.
It is well known that I am a strong advocate of foreign
policy, and I believe that our silent war with Cuba is at an end. The Cold
War is over and it is time that we set aside our differences and extend
full diplomatic recognition to Cuba. In doing this, we will open new avenues
of trade, creating capital in the form of exports; supporting our own economy
as well as that of Cuba.
My fellow Americans, I am Chester Rockwell, and I work for you.
Speech Ends.
Vice Presidential Campaign Speech
Brock Landers, Governor of Ohio
Follows:
My friends, I have always been a man of the people. It
has been a great honor for me to serve the State of Ohio, and to help with
disaster relief during one of America's most devastating floods. I have
always enjoyed interacting with the people of this great country, and I
believe they have been happy with my administration as governor. I have
been blessed with my wonderful wife and two sons, and the pride I feel
for them is that of any true American. As Vice President I hope to add
my knowledge to the administration of my running mate, current Vice President
Chester Rockwell. Rockwell's take charge attitude toward his views is admirable
and shows an initiative few are bold enough to take. I myself believe that
his administration will lead this country into a new era of prosperity
and growth.
Our opponents may attack our stance on abortion. We believe
it is the right of all Americans to have the freedom to make their own
decisions freely. By banning abortion, the government would be taking away
the rights of its people to make a choice. And while this may offend some,
we seek to please the entire populace of our nation, not to restrict its
liberties. As to the Republicans' position on capital gain taxes being
too high, the question answers itself. Both Republican candidates easily
fall into the upper-class of America, which is most affected by these taxes.
The reduction of capital gains taxes would deplete governmental funding
that is valuable to the people of this nation, and would put financial
relief on those who need it least of all.
By eliminating the Ohio State income tax and instituting
a value tax in its place, I was able to balance out the tax situation in
my area of administration, and this, as you know, has been successful thus
far. It is these types of decisions that I stand by, and the new and innovative
administration of Chester Rockwell will surely bring about change that
will affect this nation for the better.
